Tim Johnson is a forward-thinking telecommunications executive with extensive experience leading network expansion and technology strategy. As a Senior Business Development Consultant for Wipro, he guided Tier 1 and 2 clients in expanding their Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and fiber networks. He managed supplier delivery for data center design and 5G expansion and established third-party relationships to deliver services for IoT, Smart Cities, and Private Networks.
His operational expertise was honed at T-Mobile/Sprint, where he directed account management for wholesale VoIP contracts generating over $600M in annual revenue. He also designed and executed the largest VoIP migration in CLEC history, seamlessly transitioning over 1 million customers while maintaining near-zero migration defects.
At Wipro Consulting, his commercial leadership secured a $36M contract for fiber design and engineering services. He also led contract negotiations that resulted in a 30% savings to planned capital investment for a major 5G expansion and successfully negotiated the assignment of commercial agreements with major carriers like AT&T and Verizon.
Tim’s strategic work is built on a deep foundation in network procurement and operations. At T-Mobile/Sprint, Tim directed the $1B procurement team for 4G and 5G RAN and CORE assets. As President/GM of American Broadband, he partnered with the CTO to develop a "Market-Driven Network Plan" and oversaw the engineering to extend FTTH services to over 50,000 new homes.
